The Essentials
Logo
Obviously, one thing you are going to need is a logo for your new business. While this isn’t directly print related, a number of your print materials are going to have your logo on them so you will need to make sure you have a nice looking logo. A poor logo can bring down all of the other print materials you may have.
Business Card
Arguably the most important piece of marketing you will ever have, especially when just starting out. You could look to save money and perhaps buy your own business card paper and print out a template from the internet, but is that really going to help you stand out and is it going to give someone the right first impression? Probably not.
One key element of networking is standing out. If you were networking and you and three other people all sold the same item, what is going to make you stand out? A good way to start would be a good business card, that way after the event you want people to look back at the card to get in touch with you. Therefore we would recommend getting a nice design and getting the cards printed on some thicker card.
The Not So Essential
While the two things above are a great start to meeting people and to give you a professional look. The next couple of items on our list are going to give your business a professional look but are not exactly essential.
Letterhead
All the big businesses have letterheads, they make your business appear professional, even if you’re just starting out. A letterhead can be used to introduce yourself to a potential customer or it can be used as the background for your invoices and quotes.
Brochure
Sometimes people will be interested in your services or your product but don’t need it right this minute. This is where a brochure comes in, you are able to send them more information about your business and they can keep it safe until the time is right. A brochure can also be a good thing to pass round at a networking group.
Flyer
Getting the word out that your new business is operating is vital and what better way to let the world know than to put flyers out. A nice looking flyer can grab the attention of someone whether they are in a takeaway, in the post office or pretty much anywhere. Get some nicely printed flyers and get the word out!
Industry Essentials
Depending on what your sector business is in, there are a number of things you might need to get printed. For example, if you are in the food industry you might need a nice sign to go outside and a pleasant looking menu.
